I'm quitting Netflix Oct. 22nd

(download)
Like everyone in Canada, i had been waiting for the Netflix launch a very long time. I was excited to finally have a legal stream service for movies and TV shows. I've been subscribed since day one (Sept. 22nd), and my excitement has died down since. I watched 3 movies within the 1st week of it launching. Great classics that i was glad to find in their collection. Since then i've watched 1 movie and 4 TV episodes. That is weak compared to my regular TV/Movie watching habbits.

Why so little Netflix action? Well, because the selection is weak. A lot of the suggestions I had already seen and new releases are B,C and even D movies. (yuk!) Check the gallery to see what i'm talking about. Fortunately it's not their fault. I understand the studios can put a lot of pressure on their available library. Financially this must be a nightmare to run in order to be profitable and please the studios. I'm glad we have pioneers like that take all the arrows. It opens up the possibilities for future online media providers to actually survive and possibly be profitable.

I one day dream of media being readily available for an all you can eat price. I'm talking both music and video. Ideally i would have a Zune pass and a Netflix/Hulu combo. Sadly we don't have all those services available in Canada. Not unless you use a proxy. But who wants to do that? Until that day i will continue to get my media through whatever means necessary.

So, sorry Netflix. I'm so sad we had to part ways. Maybe one day i'll be back.

2Guys1Wave #1: Apple Tablet (ALPHA Post to say the least)

Hey all, We're having a few technical difficulties setting up the wave. We have recently found out that embedding a public wave does not make it visible to the rest of the web (d'uh). Rest assured we are looking into ways either exporting the contents once done waving. In the meantime Wave users can view the progress so far. ANNOUNCEMENT: If you would like a Wave invite leave a comment with your desired Gmail address or email contact_at_filipmares.com (remember to replace '_at_' with '@'). Enjoy!
